1953-2003:

FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE DISCOVERY OF DNA STRUCTURE

This year the scientific community commemorates the fiftieth anniversary of the double helix discovery by James Watson, Francis Crick and Maurice Hugh Frederick Wilkins, who shared Nobel Prize in 1962. As the original article was published in Nature, the editorial board caught the opportunity to celebrate Nature Genetics. Nature Genetics was launched in 1992, so the March issue features a special retrospective supplement, not only looking back over the past decade of genetics research, but also speculating about the future. The ten year retrospective supplements (1992-2002) contains reviews by Venter, Bork, Feldman, Roses, Balmain and Luigi Luca Cavalli-Sforza.
