CYTOSOLIC PHOSPHOLIPASE A2 IN MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS
Kolyvas
and David in their recenty paper published in Neuron (Cytosolic phospholipase A2 plays
a key role in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis-like disease. Neuron 41, 323-335, 2004) suggest that the enzyme cytosolic
phospholipase A2 could serve as the common link by which many factors trigger
the inflammatory and axonal pathologies characteristic of Multiple Sclerosis.
The research was conducted in mice with experimental autoimmune
encephalomyelitis.
